Whiskies to make your Shabbat UK shine

Three Scottish specials for those who like a drop of the golden nectar

articlemain

For those looking to sip on a spirit for Shabbat UK, Benjamin Gestetner of kosher wine and spirit distributor, Kedem, shares three of the finest drams to drain.

These three whiskies will make your Kiddush shine:

Tomintoul T’Lath £29.99

The most reasonably priced of the trio, made in Scotland’s Speyside. It's a non-age-statement release — which means it’s a blend of single malts of various ages. It has been aged in bourbon barrels and has sweet notes of toffee, vanilla, white pepper and nutmeg. Tlàth is pronounced “Tlah” and is Gaelic meaning –gentle, mellow.

Auchentoshan American Oak £32.99
A vanilla-rich and fruity single malt made in the Scottish Lowlands, matured in first-fill bourbon casks.

Glencadam 15 YO RRP £67.49

This handsomely packaged, award-winning whisky made in the Scottish Highlands would make a special gift. The whisky has notes of toffee and sugared almonds.
