Deaths:
BURR. Gillian (née Bloom). Beloved wife of the late Gordon Burr for 58 years, devoted mother of Lynne, Rosanna, Adam and David, mother-in-law to Stephen and Ilana, and adoring grandmother to Debra, Rachelle, Sara, Sophie, Zoe and Emily. Also grandmother-in-law to Ryan and great-grandmother to Maya. Deeply loved by us and so many others. Tremendously supportive of her wide extended family and friends. Lifelong contributor to Jewish communal life. Known for her role in producing the “Way To A Man’s Heart” kosher recipe books to fundraise for World Jewish Relief and for leading many of the pastoral, social and cultural initiatives at St John’s Wood Synagogue, and so much more. With her energy and drive to help others, she accomplished remarkable things, empowered many and left an inspiring legacy.
COOPER. Anne (née Berns). Died at home on 4th April 2025, in her 98th year, after a short illness bravely borne. Much loved mother of Richard, Tony and Elizabeth and mother-inlaw of Beverley. A lifelong Zionist, she trained us in the way we ought to go; we have not swerved from it even in old age. May her dear soul be bound up in the bonds of life eternal.
LYONS. Tanya Galit. Died peacefully at home in Israel, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday 7th April, aged 52. She fought so bravely and with such positivity after receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis last year - a journey that she documented so beautifully on Facebook. She will be dearly missed by her loving family, including Mum Helen, Auntie Marilyn, Uncle Michael, cousins Simon, Paul, Sarah and their families. We all loved her so very much.
