Israel Ambassador Daniel Taub addressed a joint event held by the South London Israel Forum and Sutton and District Synagogue which attracted people from the area's United, Liberal and Reform communities, as well as Nightingale House residents.
Speaking on new challenges and opportunities in Israel diplomacy, Mr Taub cited examples from his experience of representing Israel at the United Nations and in the negotiation room. He answered a broad range of questions, from the changing situation in the region to the image of Israel in the UK.
The envoy was presented with a donation for the Israeli charity Yad Sarah, providing assistance to those with medical problems, and a signed bottle of Speaker John Bercow's Parliamentary whisky.
