Hooded men hung Palestinian flags on the fence of an East London primary school that has been at the centre of controversy after it said that children should not wear Palestinian insignia to school.
Barclay Primary School in Leyton closed early for the Christmas holidays over “escalating threats” prompted by its policy, LBC Radio reported last week.
On Thursday, dozens of protesters gathered outside the school gates following reports that an eight-year-old pupil, whose mother is a Palestinian, had been reprimanded for having a Palestinian flag on his coat.
Now The Times has reported that during the night after the demonstration men wearing black hoods brought ladders to hang Palestinian flags on the fence and a lamppost around the school.
The newspaper said that on a video of their action, which was posted on TikTok, a devotional song sometimes used in jihadist propaganda was audible in the background.
The Metropolitan Police said it was aware of the video circulating on social media which would be reviewed and any offences investigated. “At this time no arrests have been made,” police said.
