Two yeshiva students in their early 20s were injured in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem on Friday afternoon.
One of the students - believed to be an American citizen - was stabbed in the chest by an assailant armed with a knife. The second victim was shot in the leg by police who were trying to stop the attacker.
The attacker has been identified as a 23 year-old Palestinian East-Jerusalem resident.
The attack took place on Bar Lev Street near Ammunition Hill and was the second in an hour.
Earlier in the day two Palestinians approached the Tapuah Junction in the West Bank on a scooter and attempted to stab a border guard. The guard was lightly injured and the assailants were shot by another guard at the junction.
This comes as 13 year-old Ahmed Mansara, who stabbed and wounded two Israelis in the East Jerusalem settlement of Pigat Ze'ev earlier in the month, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife, on Friday morning.
Mansara, who Mahmoud Abbas said had been “executed” by Israeli security forces was revealed to in fact be recovering in an Israeli hospital.
