Hertsmere Council has approved plans for a new community centre for Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue, including a hall and multi-purpose facilities.
The shul has a membership of over 700 families and is used by around 250 people each week. “Up to now, the range of activities in our community has meant that at times we struggle to fit in our current building,”explained minister Rabbi Paul Freedman. “And as our congregation continues to grow, there is so much more that we would like to offer. I am excited to think that we will at last be able to cater for the needs of our own members and the local community in Radlett.”
Details on funding and construction work will be revealed to members at a meeting early in 2014.
