A family of a 42-year-old man who went missing has thanked Shomrim for helping them find a 42-year-old man who had been reported missing in Elstree Hertfordshire.
Jeremy Rabinovitch was reported missing by his family on Tuesday and they said they increasingly worried about his safety and appealed to members of the public who might have seen him.
His wife Amanda Rabinovitch, who is a member of the Liberal Synagogue Elstree, said her husband had been found on Thursday.
She said Shomrim, the Strictly Orthodox volunteer security group, had been “life savers” in the search to find her husband.
Writing on Facebook, she said: “Thank you will never be enough. We are now going to get him the help he needs - thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.”
After reporting him missing earlier this week the family had put up missing posters in their area and online.
Nochum Dewhurst, Shomrim Search Coordinator, said: “The only reassurance you can give a family in this dark time is to tell them that we simply won’t stop looking until he is found. Searching in these circumstances is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
"We sent out hundreds of volunteers on an intelligence led basis with the limited information we had.
"Jeremy was located safe and well by a volunteer just four hours and fifteen minutes after we mobilised our search."
Gary Ost, Shomrim chief executive, said: “The dedication, commitment, professionalism and determination of the volunteers who give up their time to look for someone they may or may not know personally is simply outstanding, and we a delighted that Jeremy has now been re-united with his family."
