The Board of Deputies’ parliamentary affairs officer Sophie Dunoff has been appointed as chief operating officer at University Jewish Chaplaincy.

The organisation that provides chaplain services for students across the country made the announcement on Tuesday.

Chaplaincy chairman Uri Goldberg said: “Sophie brings to us an extraordinary skill in relationship building as well as engaging with organisations within and beyond the Jewish community.”

In her role at the Board, Ms Dunoff established a cross-party parliamentary group on British Jews as well as producing the community’s 2015 general election manifesto.

She begins her new role in January and succeeds Suzy Richman, who has worked at Chaplaincy for seven years.
