Charity University Jewish Chaplaincy is set to launch a new initiative for university graduates this Shabbat.

Young Chaplaincy seeks to “fill the gap” after university, keeping graduates involved with the charity.

The inaugural event will see Canon Andrew White, who was vicar of the only Anglican church in Baghdad, address over 130 people at a Friday night dinner at Finchley Synagogue.

Co-chair Menachem Grunewald, who runs the project with wife Gemma, said: “The key is the benefit it will give to Chaplaincy itself.”

The committee hopes to run several events to raise funds and improve awareness of Chaplaincy throughout the year.

University chaplains provide a home-from-home and pastoral support for Jewish students.
