Miri Regev described the Israel flag ban at the Abu Dhabi grand slam as “infuriating and outrageous”.

Israeli competitors were only allowed to compete on the agreement their competitors did not wear their national flag.

Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev said she “will fight” to ensure there is no repeat at future events.

Competing with the initials of the International Judo Federation on their jackets, Sagi Muki and Yarden Gerbi won bronze medals.

Gerbi said: “I don’t think about politics. I will always represent Israel and it doesn’t matter to me if they hide the flag."
