The last few years have proven that life is for celebrating. Diaries are packed with bar mitzvahs, birthdays, weddings and other simchas. And then there’s the weekly opportunity to toast Shabbat. With the sun shining, it’s rosé season, and the kosher market is definitely in the pink. Here are a few of my favourites:

Fabulous fizz:

Drappier Rosé de Saignier Brut Nature Champagne (NV) £60
Special occasion to toast? This fantastic fizz from a historic French Champagne house is bone dry and filled with summer fruit flavours. It would even work well with the right dessert.

Vera Wang Party Prosecco Rosé £24.99
As you would expect, from this fashion forward label from the queen of wedding dresses, this fizz is dressed in a sleek matte silver bottle with “PARTY” emblazoned in pink. The prosecco – made in Piemonte by a family-owned winery — is fruity and ideal for an afternoon tea reception. (Available from the end of July although the regular Party! Prosecco is in store now.)

Gavioli Moscato Rosé £12.99
If prefer a sweeter sparkler for your aperitivo or want a dessert accompaniment, this well-priced Moscato rosé is for you. There’s plenty of summer fruit flavour and the low alcohol level (5.5%) makes it an easy drinker. The beautiful flower-painted bottle makes it a lovely host gift. (Mevushal)

Champagnes Barons de Rothschild Rosé (NV) £100
Looking for a premium fizz? This heritage pink Champagne blended from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and is one to make memories with. A toasty, pretty pink bubbly with raspberry notes, in a gorgeously gift-worthy presentation box.

Under £20:

R from Chateau Roubine £16.99
I adore everything from Valerie Rousselle, the lovely owner of this South of France chateau. You can’t beat a Provence rosé and this very affordable blend of grenache, cinsault and syrah grapes ticks many boxes. It’s easy to drink and beautifully packaged as all her wines are.

Zion Imperial Rosé £12.99
Zion is the value label from one of the largest wineries in Israel. This pale salmon-coloured, fruity pink is perfectly suited for that summertime terrace moment, with or without a meal, although a dish of olives wouldn’t go amiss.

Teperberg Impression Rosé £17.99
Another large winery-produced blend, this deep salmon-pink Israeli rosé that’s filled with summer fruit flavours is another reasonably priced wine for an al fresco moment — just add plenty of sunshine. (Mevushal)

Herzog 2021 Lineage Rosé Clarksburg £19.99
Just tipping the £20 price point, this deep salmon-coloured Californian wine is ideal for summertime Shabbat meals. Medium-bodied and packed with citrus plus candied (and some tropical) fruit flavours. Perfect partner for roast chicken or salmon.
