How Jasmine spice up Monday - The Jewish Chronicle

I’ve been dining out from home again, and reflecting on how the last year’s chaos has created some positive changes. Since caterers were forced to rethink their business models, kosher diners have never had so much choice and variety of cuisines that can be delivered to their doors. I’ve had multi-course meals from 1070; the dirtiest of burgers and other street food from Ben Teneblat and a range of frozen meals. The latest treat arrived at my door last night at exactly the right time. A smiley man dropped off a large white box full of Indian food that I’d ordered from Jasmine Catering and Events. The creative team at Jasmine have shone during this pandemic — not only jumping to help the needy and shielders at the start of the pandemic, but then reinventing their business model in response to every Government announcement. I’d been asked if I’d like to taste their Indian menu, which ‘pops up’ at regular intervals for those who get their orders in fast. No need to think about that one for too long. Inside the exciting box were naan bread; a box of mixed vegetarian appetisers; chicken tikka masala; pilau rice; a couple of chutneys and two mango desserts. All I needed to do was reheat the bits and pieces for 20 minutes. Simples. What a treat, on a Monday night to tuck into various crunchy bhajis and samosas – dipped in a mango chutney and mango coriander dipping sauce; a warming, rich chicken curry; a vegetable jalfrezi and multi-coloured pilau rice.
