It was a barrel of laughs in Manchester, as Chabad hosted a comedy night —“Young Jews Telling Jokes.” More than 50 people watched as would-be Jackie Masons took to the mic — including Mark Larah, Raphi Diamond, Robert Phillips and Benji Gubbay. Audience member Sarah Cohen said: “My friends are always trying to get laughs, so it was nice to see them do it for real on stage.”

Durham University made history when it brought Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and Archbishop of York John Sentamu together to talk about interfaith work and launch the Council of Christians and Jews’ new Student Presidents’ initiative. JSoc president Tammy Ostro said: “My family wouldn’t be alive today if my grandfather hadn’t survived the Holocaust with the help of Christians. I hope the new initiative can help bring the significance of this kind of friendship to the next generation.”
