ON THE ROCKS

Imperial JSoc fled the chill and headed for the sunny climes of Gibraltar. Sponsored by Chaplaincy, Tribe and UJS, the trip introduced 17 students — plus chaplain Rabbi Gavin Broder — to the island’s vibrant Jewish community. Over two days, they visited synagogues and met the island’s first-ever mayor, Solomon “Momy” Levy, not to mention a few klepto-monkeys. JSoc’s Noah Nathan said: “We did a two-hour walk up to the rock of Gibraltar. Some monkeys grabbed a couple of people’s bags and stole their lunches”. Sounds bananas.

FAST CLASS

Rapid reading resulted from Oxford Chaplaincy’s “speed-dating” chavruta session. “It was an inspiring experience”, said student Ezra Margulies. “Every participant made the effort to identify with the text in a personal and honest way”.
