Work hard, play hard

Students who graduated from the Genesis course — Aish’s and JLE’s leadership initiative — were treated to a swanky dinner at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel. More than 300 guests enjoyed a lavish feast, before being entertained by magician Stephen Barry and crooner Eli Tamir.

“An rud is annamh is iontach.” Or, if your Gaelic is a bit rusty, “the thing that’s seldom is wonderful.” Nothing could have proven this better than last week’s pivotal event on the Emerald Isle. After a whistle-stop tour from north to south, UJS developing officer Ben Salamon touched down in Dublin, where he set about putting together the first Friday night dinner to take place at Trinity College. Fifteen Jewish students came to wine and dine – toasting, in JSoc member Oli Itkin’s words, “the real potential of the Jewish community.” Good craic, indeed.
