This is my favourite magic trick in the kitchen: creamy ice cream made with just bananas! The other ingredients are added just for fun to make a less sugary ice cream sundae. Start this the day before you want to serve it so you can freeze the bananas.
Peel the bananas and cut into 3cm slices and place in a freezer bag or zip lock containers and freeze until solid - around 4 to 6 hours, or overnight if you have time.
Place the banana chips in a food processor and process until fully ground. Set aside.
Melt the dark chocolate and leave to cool slightly.
Remove the bananas 5-10 minutes before processing to thaw slightly.
Place the bananas in the food processor and blitz. You will have to stop every so often and scrape down the sides.
Watch as the bananas turn into ice-cream. It should take approximately 3 minutes but the mixture will eventually turn into a thick and creamy, ice-cream-like dessert.
Scoop out into a large bowl and fold in the chopped halva.Serve at once but if not serving immediately, freeze until ready to serve.
Serve drizzled with melted chocolate and sprinkled with the ground banana chips.
