Our Prime Minister has shown himself to be a true and trusted friend of Israel. So it is all the more bizarre that the Middle East Minister, Tobias Ellwood, should have made such a crass and stupid statement about the violence in Israel, attacking “the use of force by Israeli security personnel in response to protests and security incidents”
Protests? How can stabbings and other violent attacks, which kill innocent Israelis, be classified by the minister as “protests”?
This is also the first time that a minister of the crown has publicly criticised Israeli operational counter-terror measures. Mr Ellwood needs to get a grip — or he will have earned the enmity not just of Israel but of everyone who supports freedom over terror.
