A series of deadly terror attacks across Israel have left at least two people dead and dozens injured.

At least one man was killed in a car-ramming attack in central Jerusalem as violence escalated in the city.

The attack took place on Malchei Yisrael Street in the strictly Orthodox Makor Baruch neighborhood.

More than a dozen passengers were reported to be injured after the vehicle ran into a crowd, at least three seriously.

Magen David Adom paramedics were at the scene.

In further violence a stabbing and shooting was reported on a bus and a two knife attacks were reported in Ra’anana.

Exact details of the incidents are not clear as the emergency services battle to respond.

Two people were also killed in the attack that took place on a bus in the Armon Hanatziv neighbourhood of Jerusalem. More than 16 people were wounded, six of them seriously.

A senior official with Hatzolah said two terrorists armed with guns boarded the bus and began a shooting spree.

The two terrorists were shot. One is dead and the other badly wounded.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called an emergency security cabinet meeting for Tuesday afternoon to discuss possible responses to the wave of terror attacks.

The incidents follow a day of violence on Monday that saw six people wounded in three stabbing attacks in Jerusalem, two of them seriously.

In Gaza, 20 Palestinians attacked the border fence and broke through into Israel, retreating back inside only after an hour and a half of clashes with Israeli security forces.
