The Claims Conference has published a list of thousands of Jews who lost property in former East Germany.
The claims body announced that these Jews and their families will be eligible to receive compensation from a 50 million euro ‘Late Applications Fund’ set up by the conference.
The people on the list - which includes property addresses and the names of the owners - have until December 31, 2014 to apply for compensation online. According to the Claims Conference this will be the last chance to receive compensation on property lost under Nazi Germany.
Since 1992 the Claims Conference has paid $800 million to thousands of families recognised as legal owners of properties.
