'Queen's vagina' row

articlemain

British Jewish artist Anish Kapoor announced last week that a Versailles politician was taking him to court for choosing to display antisemitic information on his sculpture, Dirty Corner.

The sculpture on display at the Château de Versailles - a large steel structure surrounded by large rocks, dubbed by French reporters "the queen's vagina" - was vandalised two weeks ago with antisemitic graffiti for a second time.

Mr Kapoor had decided not to have the daubings removed, saying he wanted to keep them as a reminder about racism.

However, Versailles municipal councillor Fabien Bouglé filed a complaint to the local prosecutor claiming that the artwork now incites racial hatred.
