Mariah Carey has announced that she will be staging her first-ever Israeli show this summer.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Ms Carey said: “Shalom Israel, I will be coming to see you live on August 18, so come to see me! Shalom.”

The news comes two months after Ms Carey visited Israel for the first time with her Australian entrepreneur boyfriend, James Packer. The couple met his spiritual leader and had dinner with the Netanyahus.
The show is to take place on 18 August at Live Park in Rishon Lezion. Sources say that the event will be a one-off show, not part of a world tour. Concert promoter Lia Luzon said: “It’s a specific show that will be done here; you could say it will be created for us.”
Tickets went on sale Wednesday morning and Ran Rahav, the Israeli public relations specialist handling Ms Carey’s concert, said that ticket prices would be slightly lower than usual to “really allow all of the State of Israel to come”.
“A lot of Israelis are crazy about her and this allows them to see her,” he said.
Ms Carey said of her trip to Israel in June: “I waited many years to come here, and I am very moved.”
