Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has received the blessing of a famous Kaballist rabbi at a Jewish wedding in New York.
James received the blessing from Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, a prominent Israeli-Moroccan rabbi, who founded the organisation Mosdot Shuva Israel and was appointed Chief Rabbi of Morocco in 2019.
The pair can be seen entering the wedding venue together, before Pinto leans into give the towering 6,8 star a blessing to which the small group replies 'amen.'
James and Pinto were guests at the wedding of Ariella Boker and Jeffrey Schottenstein, the son of wealthy American clothing tycoon Jay Schottenstein.
LeBron has long been linked to Pinto, with him reportedly paying six-figure to the Hebrew speaking Rabbi back in 2010 for 'spiritual guidance' according to celebrity news site TMZ.
Rabbi Pinto has been the subject of controversy in Israel after he was convicted of trying to bribe an Israeli police officer in 2014. He served just over a year in Israeli prison before emigrating to Morocco in 2017.
Pinto is a descendant of multiple famous rabbis including the Baba Sali (Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira) as well as Moroccan Rabbi Chaim Pinto. In 2012, he was named by Forbes Israel Magazine as one of the 10 richest rabbis in Israel, having amassed a fortune of over NIS 75million.
