In a recent interview with GQ, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot showed off her Jewish balabusta roots by presenting the journalist with an egg sandwich.
The ex-Israeli soldier greeted GQ writer Caity Weaver on a Tel Aviv beach with the "unexpected" sandwich: "Wonder Woman has brought me the egg sandwich wrapped in cellophane, and when she arrives, she delivers it to me as confidently as if I had specifically requested it. She also packed me a fluffy white bath towel from her own home."
The interview paints Gadot as friendly, taking pictures with the many fans who approach her during the interview, smiling and swimming in the sea. But her army traning hasn't been forgotten as she tells Weaver about her approach to public safety now she's famous.
"I'm much more aware and alert. I don't want to seclude myself from society. I want to be part of everyone, and I enjoy talking to random people sometimes. It's easier for me here [in Israel], 'cause profiling people is really easy for me."
But back to the egg sandwich.
"Tell me what you like to eat," she asks Weaver part way through the interview. "BECAUSE I NOTICE YOU DID NOT EAT THE EGG SANDWICH THAT I BROUGHT YOU."
