Gal Gadot, star of Wonder Woman, hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live to mark the first time the show has been broadcast live in Israel.
The actress was loudly cheered as she opened the programme and said she was “so happy to be here”.
She joked in Ivrit before comedian and actress Leslie Jones appeared alongside her on stage.
In the opening monologue, the 32-year-old from Petah Tikvah, says “hi Imma (mum), hi Abba (dad)”, before going on to tell friends and family "back home” that “the writers here clearly know nothing about Israel. In every sketch they have me eating hummus”.
Ms Gadot is due to appear in a sequel to the box-office smash hit Wonder Woman, which earned almost a billion dollars amid critical acclaim this summer.
Saturday Night Live has enjoyed renewed popularity in the States and globally this year following its take on the Trump presidency.
