International diplomacy is increasingly carried out through social media. But the immediacy of sending a quick tweet to a foreign dignitary is balanced by the higher chance of making an embarrassing error.

After today’s high-profile visit to Jerusalem by President Trump, his wife Melania graciously sent a message of thanks to their hosts the President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin and his wife Nechama.

Only one problem though. See below. To his credit, Mr Rivlin let the error slide. What a gent.
