A huge security operation was put into operation on Monday as US President Donald Trump arrived in Israel for a two-day visit.

More than 10,000 police officers  have been tasked with securing the president’s stay in Jerusalem – where he will stay in a bullet-proof room in the city’s King David Hotel.

Israel’s Operation “Blue Shield” will see all roads used by the President and his huge entourage sealed off and cleared of traffic in an unprecedented security sweep.

“The level of security will be at its highest," said Micky Rosenfeld, a spokesman for the Israeli police.
