Neo-Nazi groups will face a television and social media ban if the Conservatives are re-elected in 2015, according to plans expected to be announced today by Home Secretary Theresa May.
She is due to address the Conservative party conference in Birmingham about new measures as part of a crackdown on extremism.
New banning orders will outlaw extremist groups from jihadists to neo-Nazis, and it will become a criminal offence to raise funds for a group with extremist views.
Other measures will include extremism disruption orders, which will prevent extremists from speaking in public and circulating ideas on social media. Police will be given powers to remove the passports of Britons suspected of trying to join Isis fighters in Syria or Iraq.
The proposed banning orders and extremism disruption orders would need High Court approval before being implemented.
