An anti-fascist organisation is to protest outside a store in north London that sells a clothing brand said to be favoured by neo-Nazis.

The Viking Thor shop, which opened recently in North Finchley, stocks the German brand Thor Steinar.

Unite Against Fascism launched a petition calling for its closure, and plans a picket this weekend. National secretary Weyman Bennett said: “We have a responsibility to say this is not OK on our doorstep.”

Jewish groups have also expressed concern about the shop, which is located yards from the office of Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis.

Local MP Mike Freer said he had discussed the issue with Jewish leaders.

“We agreed that keeping a ‘watching brief’ is the best course of action,” he said.
