A leading geneticist has been cleared of allegations of “research misconduct”.
Professor David Latchman, the master of Birkbeck College in London, was among several academic investigated after journal papers from his research group were withdrawn earlier this year after errors were identified.
University College London, where Professor Latchman has a laboratory and works in the field of human genetics, found that he had “no case to answer”.
In a statement, UCL added that he had accepted that there were “procedural matters in his lab that required attention”.
Professor Latchman is chair of the Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation, which gives millions to Jewish charities.
