Harvey Weinstein is famous for his big screen productions, but now a production about him could be taken to the big stage.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet says he has written a new play about Harvey Weinstein that is expected to head to Broadway.

He told the Chicago Tribune in an interview published on Thursday: “I was talking with my Broadway producer and he said, ‘Why don’t you write a play about Harvey Weinstein?’ And so I did.”

He didn't go into further detail about when we could expect to see the play or what it would be about - would it focus on the film career of the movie mogul or on the recent controversy surrounding him, accusations of sexual harrassment and the #MeToo movement? -  however the Tribune did reveal that  it’s working title is currently “Bitter Wheat” and "there has been great interest in the lead role expressed by a Chicago stage legend who is now a movie star."

The Glengarry Glen Ross playwright has previously explored the theme of sexual harrassment in his 1992 play Oleanna. “Every society has to confront the ungovernable genie of sexuality and tries various ways to deal with it," he told the Chicago Tribune, "and none of them work very well.”
