Seth Rogen plans to develop British hit comedy Plebs for an American audience.

Rogen, star of Freaks and Geeks, Knocked Up and Steve Jobs along with his partner in production company Point Grey Pictures, Evan Goldberg, is in the early stages of developing the project for US broadcasters.

Plebs, which stars Tom Rosenthal and Joel Fry has been described as The Inbetweeners meets Ancient Rome. It follows grain company workers Marcus Phillipus Valerius Gallo (Rosenthal), Stylax Rufus Eurisces (Fry) and their slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson).

The ITV2 comedy is about to enter its fourth season, and will feature guest stars including Maureen Lipman.

Rogen's Point Grey Pictures has previously had success with productions including the films Neighbours and The Disaster Artist, and TV series Preacher.
