Chelsea fans allegedly abused an Orthodox Jewish rail passenger with antisemitic chants after an FA Cup clash.
British Transport Police said the man was forced to move carriages after being targeted by football fans on a train from Milton Keynes to Euston on Sunday, January 31.
In an appeal for information detectives have today released the image of a man who may have knowledge of the incident.
Detective Constable David Peek said: “The incident happened on Sunday, January 31, the day Chelsea played at MK Dons in the FA Cup.
“Following the match, a group of Chelsea fans boarded a Euston-bound service at Milton Keynes at 7.50pm.
“The carriage was crowded and they began using foul language. One of them singled out an Orthodox Jewish man and all of the men began chanting antisemitic abuse at him.
“The victim moved carriage as a result of this disgraceful behaviour.
“Nobody should have to put up with abuse just because of their race or religion, and we take all reports of hate crime extremely seriously.
“I think the man in the image I am issuing today will have information about the incident. Please tell us who he is?”
