Meghan Markle's best friend Jessica Mulroney has posted a defiant Instagram post after the shock announcement the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will step back from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family.
Ms Mulroney, who is a scion of the Quebec Jewish family behind Canada's Browns footwear chain, posted the message "a strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink" amid huge fallout from her friend and Prince Harry's announcement of their decision.
Buckingham Palace is reported to be "disappointed" with the couple for making it public before the details were agreed.
As the media furore intensified, Ms Mulroney posted the qoutation, attributing it to filmmaker and musician Gina Carey.
