A memorial to Sir Jimmy Savile was removed from the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board (LJWB) building on Thursday morning.
The gold leaf plaque, on the LJWB’s honorary Tree of Life, was removed this week in the wake of the child sexual abuse allegations made against the dj and tv presenter.
An executive LJWB member was unavailable for comment.
Another Savile memorial was attacked by vandals in Scarborough, north Yorkshire, who scrawled the words “rapist” and “paedophile” on the plaque.
Sir Jimmy died last year, aged 84, and the Metropolitan Police are currently pursuing 120 lines of inquiry into the alleged abuse.
