Mexico has responded furiously to a tweet by Benjamin Netanyahu supporting President Trump's plan to construct a wall between the US and Mexico.
The Israeli Priime Minister tweeted: "President Trump is right. I built a wall along Israel's southern border. It stopped all illegal immigration. Great success." President Trump retweeted the message.

Mexico's Foreign Ministry expressed "profound astonishment, rejection and disappointment over Prime Minister Netanyahu's message on Twitter about the construction of a border wall. Mexico is a friend of Israel and should be treated as such by its Prime Minister."
Israel's Ambassador to Mexico, Yonatan Peled, said it was impossible to compare the Trump proposal to the Israel-Sinai border being closed as an anti-terrorism measure. Mexican-Jewish leaders have also criticised Mr Netanyahu's intervention.
