An Israeli man has been charged with attempted murder, after he allegedly stabbed a Jew he mistook for an Arab.

Shlomo Pinto, from the north of Israel, has been accused of stabbing Uriel Razkan in Haifa, after mistaking him for an Arab. Mr Razkan was said to be “moderately injured” as a result of the stabbing in his upper torso.

Today, Israeli authorities charged Mr Pinto with two counts of attempted murder and one offence relating to possession of a knife. He has been accused of attempting to carry out a revenge attack after a spate of stabbings by Palestinian terrorists.

Mr Pinto, 33, reportedly carried out the attack in an Ikea car park last month.
