A farmer in Israel has taken the crown of world's heaviest strawberry after the Guinness book of World Records certified the berry the largest ever measured.
Ariel Chahi, from Kadima-Zoran in Israel's central region, grew the berry last year and kept it frozen until judges were able to inspect the fruit.

The whopping seeded fruit clinched the title weighing 289g and measuring nearly 18cm long.
The strawberry in question was an Ilan variety, originally bred by Dr. Nir Dai, a researcher from Israel's Agricultural Research Organization.
Dr. Dai was one of the witnesses at the Guinness weigh-in and explained the fruit's abnormally large size, saying: "During this strawberry season in late January and early February it was particularly cold...The strawberry developed slowly for more than 45 days from flowering which caused its large size at full ripening stage."
The Ilan breed of strawberry is known for producing larger than average fruits, but this is the first time it's taken the guinness crown.
Mr. Chahi's fruit took the title of world's largest strawberry from a farmer in Japan, who held the record for seven years.
