An Israeli soldier has been stabbed in the West Bank.
The soldier, who is said to be lightly injured, was attacked while patrolling in the southern Hebron Hills this morning.
According to reports, his attacker was shot and killed by Israel Defence Forces soldiers.
Earlier today, Israeli authorities arrested 14 people on suspicion of disturbing the peace, including 10 adults and four children.
Last night, they also arrested one of the leaders of the Hamas terrorist group, Hassan Yusef.
He was arrested near Ramallah.
An IDF spokesman confirmed: "During the night, forces of the army and the Shin Bet arrested Hassan Yusef, a Hamas leader, in Beitunia, south west of Ramallah.”
Yusef – who was nominated to represent Hamas while he was in jail in 2005 - has been a leading figure in the terrorist group since the Second Intifada. He was first arrested by Israeli authorities in 1993.
