A BBC journalist who tweeted that “Hitler was right” has now left her job following the conclusion of an internal probe, the JC can reveal.
Tala Halawa, formerly a Palestine Specialist for BBC monitoring, wrote in 2014 that “Israel is more Nazi than Hitler” and that the Israeli Defence Force should “go to hell”.
The antisemitic statements were posted on Twitter prior to Ms Halawa joining the national broadcaster in 2017.
After Ms Halawa’s tweets were brought to light last month, the BBC launched an investigation.
Today, a senior corporation source confirmed that the investigation had concluded, adding: “This individual no longer works for the BBC.”
