A British woman in her late 40s who worked as a recruiter for Facebook has died suddenly on holiday in New York.
Hundreds of messages of condolences have been shared for mother-of-two Tanya Burns (née Reinhold).
Her brother, Dan Reinhold, remembered her as “a truly brilliant wife, the best mummy, the greatest sister and a wonderful daughter. She was also a great colleague to the people of Facebook - a job and a community she adored. It was a job she did with grace and great warmth and humour.
“She leaves an enormous hole in all of our lives as we once again stare into the darkness of grief.”
Her parents wrote: “The light has gone out of our lives”.
Mrs Burns went to JFS, and prior to joining Facebook, worked as a recruitment consultant for World Jewish Relief.
She was described as “an incredible friend and colleague” and as “a joy to spend time with”.
Another message described how the world “lost an extraordinary person who literally changed the course of hundreds of lives/careers”.
