Olympic victory on tickets for Hasmonean pupils

articlemain

Hasmonean Primary pupils thought they would not be going to the Olympics when the volleyball tickets offered to the school were for a Saturday session. But, following the intervention of London Assembly Member Andrew Dismore, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (Locog) has given the school tickets on another day for the basketball, being held in the Olympic Park.

Ten tickets were available to Hasmonean as part of a scheme offering 46,000 places at Olympic events to young Londoners and accompanying adults. Mr Dismore said Locog had initially refused to offer alternative tickets. “But after an Olympic tussle, Hasmo got the gold medal in terms of their new tickets. I was pleased to have been of help”. Headteacher Jenny Rodin thanked him for “dealing with the matter so speedily.”

The names of the lucky pupils will be drawn out of a hat.
