King David hails A-listers

articlemain

Manchester A-level students are celebrating some top results.

King David High School reported that 80 per cent of pupils achieved A*, A and B grade passes.

Governors' chair Joshua Rowe said the results were testimony to the dedication of pupils and staff, who regularly stayed on after school to assist students.

"An average score equivalent to three As per child in a comprehensive - the results are outstanding. Nearly 50 per cent of results were in maths, further maths and the sciences. This is quite counter to national trends which see pupils moving to media, drama and food studies."

At Manchester Mesivta, head boy Yitzchok Babad was thrilled at the introduction of an A* grade. He achieved five of them in biology, chemistry, further maths, pure maths and physics. Daniel Moise gained two A* and two A grades in biology, chemistry, pure maths and physics.

Headmaster Phaivish Pink was equally pleased with the results of five pupils who sat their A-levels two years early.
