Hilary Pearlman wants to encourage the next generation of Emunah women, having assumed the charity’s chairmanship at its annual meeting.
Succeeding Camille Compton — who has stepped down after a four-year term — Mrs Pearlman is known for her plain speaking, organisational skills and hands-on approach. A “professional” volunteer, she has been actively involved in Emunah for more than a decade and a member of its executive committee for the past three years. She recently founded a Young Emunah division.
The Hampstead Garden Suburb resident was “very excited about taking on this role. It is a tremendous privilege. We have unprecedented challenges that lie ahead as British Emunah enters its 80th year.
“In Israel today, the divide between the haves and have-nots continues to widen, with middle-class families experiencing poverty for the first time.
