Chelsea have warned fans not to engage in discriminatory behaviour during their game against Tottenham Hotspur after a complaint was made about antisemitic posts on social media.
A fan reported antisemitic language he had seen on Facebook to senior officials at Chelsea, with the club responding by asking for fans to act in “a passionate but respectful manner”.
The spokesman continued: “We utterly condemn discriminatory behaviour and the club will continue to challenge all forms of discrimination.”
The teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening. Passions are expected to be raised at the game if Spurs’ title chances are still alive.
If Leicester fail to beat Manchester United on Sunday, the London derby would become a key game in the race to crown the Premier League champions.
Spurs are currently seven points behind the Foxes with each side having three games left to play.
In March, West Ham issued a warning to supporters to not engage in antisemitic chants before their match with Spurs.
