Amy Winehouse’s family is reportedly in talks to turn her life into a West End musical featuring a collection of her greatest hits.

Her father, Mitch Winehouse, confirmed the news at the Amy Winehouse Foundation Gala in London last week, the Sun reports.

He said: “A musical celebrating her life and music is being talked about for the near future.

“It is something I’d really like to happen and I’ve said I’m happy for it to go ahead.

Winehouse, who died of alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27, won six Grammys, a Brit Award and three Ivor Novellos.

It is thought the musical will address the singer’s battle with substance abuse, as well as her stormy marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil.
