articlemain

Acid attack victim Kirstie Trup has spoken of her frustration with the lack of progress to find the men who attacked her in Zanzibar.

Eighteen-year-old Ms Trup told the Sunday Times: “I feel very frustrated and upset that our attackers haven’t been caught.”

Referring to the capital of Zanzibar where the attack took place, she said: “Stone Town is too small for it to be this hard and I fear they will never be caught.”

MsTrup and her friend Katie Gee, both former JFS students, were attacked with battery acid by two men on a moped. They were volunteering as teachers on the small east African island and were on their way out for dinner when the incident took place.

Despite the extensive burns she received, Ms Trup says she is keen to return to the island to do more voluntary work.
