JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
DOVI VOGEL (Faithfold DocMM White) - with a free-kick about 30 yards out wide on the left. Vogel hit a sweet strike that found the top right corner, hit the bar and bounced in
----------------
JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
JAMES HARPIN (NW London Bears) - SAVE 1 - Penalty save from Steve Summers who struck it well to Harpin's right but he clawed it away at a crucial time in the game
JAMES HARPIN (NW London Bears) - SAVE 2 - tipped over a curling effort from the edge of the box under extreme pressure from FC Team players
ED BLOOM (Temple Fortune) - vital penalty save against Club de Chigwell
ELLIOTT GORDON (Scrabble) - veteran stopper kept out a penalty from former player Zac Summerfield
GIDEON CALLER (Faithfold DocMM White) - the ball was played across goal, and from just within the six-yard box the ball was smashed towards the net, somehow Caller managed to leap across and turn the ball around the post for a corner
BEN POLLINS (Brook Farm Rovers) - Rovers got caught out by a long ball over the top but Pollins was there to make a crucial save one-on-one to keep us in it and spark the turnaround

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS
LUKE LEWIS (North London Galaxy) - "We've played Raiders seven times - won 4 drawn 2 and lost 1 - today was a defensive master-class and resembled Man United’s win away at the Etihad not long ago. Concentration for the 90, ridiculous amounts of hard work and bond like no other won us the game today - I couldn’t be prouder of my boys"
GIDEON GALE (North London Raiders) - "Thankfully the league is still in our hands and we looking forward to lifting the trophy come May!"
AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold DocMM White) - "This was another class all round performance, we played some really good football at times but what won us the game was our commitment. We were first to every second ball and worked tirelessly to close Camden down at every opportunity. The players who stepped in were magnificent and it's great to have such strength in depth"
AARON DIAS (Fairlop FC) - "Special mention to the worst finisher in Jewish football, our very own Daniel Rosen. While he has many talents, putting the ball in the back of the net is not one, and that is quite an issue when you play up front! With seconds left on the clock, Danny had the chance to seal the win when James Jaconelli passed him the ball, six yards out, he surely couldn't miss or the goalkeeper make a save, but right on cue, he scuffs the ball straight at the keeper. MLFC then went down the other end and almost scored! Something we can all now look back and laugh but wasn’t so funny at the time!"

FAITHFOLD DOCMM WHITE 4 CAMDEN PARK 0
Faithfold DocMM White finished the weekend top of the league after goals from Avi Markiewicz, Yoav Kestenbaum, David Leiwy and Dovi Vogel helped them crush struggling Camden Park 4-0.
Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "This was another class all round performance, we played some really good football at times but what won us the game was our commitment. We were first to every second ball and worked tirelessly to close Camden down at every opportunity. The players who stepped in were magnificent and it's great to have such strength in depth."
DC Prediction: Faithfold 4 Camden 1

HMH 0 OAKWOOD 0
HMH lost further ground in the title race as they failed to win for the second consecutive weekend, drawing a blank in a stalemate against a resilient Oakwood team at the Hive.
Defences dominated in a game where late drama saw Ethan Krell hit the bar in the dying seconds for HMH and Nate Kashket shoot just wide.
HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "HMH and Oakwood turned in one of the best scoreless matches in the MGBSFL for some time. A match full of high-quality, high-tempo football played with the right attitude."
DC Prediction: HMH 2 Oakwood 1

MLFC BLUE 1 FAIRLOP FC 2
Fairlop ended their long wait for a first league win as they registered a famous victory at Rowley Lane. James Jaconelli thumped home early from close range, followed by a coolly converted penalty by skipper Bradley Gayer.
Alex Goldberg registered for MLFC.
Delighted Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "We're delighted to get our long over due first win within this top division. While the quality of teams are higher, we have been struggling most with fitness levels and squad numbers and with a full bench for the first time this season, it really made a difference in the final 30 minutes. A win next week against Oakwood could take us out the relegation zone and the PM QF following that, hopefully this win is a turning point in our season."
MLFC joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "The boys were far too relaxed going into the game, and despite Laurence Judah and I insisting that Fairlop aren’t to be underrated, the message didn’t get across clear enough. On the balance, it was a deserved win for Fairlop who approached the game with the right mentality and fought from start to finish. We need to put behind us now and move our focus on to the PMT quarter-final against Manchester Maccabi."
DC Prediction: MLFC 3 Fairlop 1

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 0 NORTH LONDON GALAXY 1
North London Galaxy blew the title race wide open as they condemned Raiders to their first defeat of the season, in front of the JC cameras.
The decisive moment of the match saw a clipped ball into the channel by Zac Rose which released Jayden Tomlinson through down the wing - a nasty delivery into the box and a Raiders own goal gave Galaxy the three points.
Jubilant Galaxy boss Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "We've played Raiders seven times - won 4 drawn 2 and lost 1 - today was a defensive master-class and resembled Man United’s win away at the Etihad not long ago. Concentration for the 90, ridiculous amounts of hard work and bond like no other won us the game today - I couldn’t be prouder of my boys."
Raiders joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "It's safe to say today was one to forget and thoroughly disappointing. Having dominated the ball, we were unable to breakdown a resolute defence and made a number of sloppy mistakes. This is definitely a week to forget and we look forward to putting it right. Thankfully the league is still in our hands and we looking forward to lifting the trophy come May!"
DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Galaxy 2

HERTSWOOD VALE 1 MILL HILL DONS 2
Marc Charles scored twice as Mill Hill Dons sealed their first league win of the season with a hard-fought victory over arch rivals Hertswood Vale.
Jordan Harris had levelled for Vale but they later had two players sin-binned for dissent, and the Dons were able to get back on the attack and ensure they finished the game strongly. And, deep into injury time, Charles popped up with his second of the game, lashing the ball into the roof of the net after reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box.
Dons manager Jamie Nagioff told JC Sport: "I am absolutely delighted with the performance today. We had a very clear game-plan for this game and worked on it both at training and in detail before kick-off, and it worked to perfection. The effort and organisation from the boys was a joy to see, and it shows how well we can play when we're at our best. That hasn't happened enough this season, so I hope this is the start of a good run of form from now on."
DC Prediction: Vale 3 Dons 1

JEWDINESE 5 SPEC FC 1
REISS MOGILNER (3) and Zack Collins (2) got Jewdinese's promotion bid back on track as they overpowered SPEC FC 5-1.
The Zebras took the lead when a great low cross from Ben Berrick was poked home by Mogilner. They doubled our lead just before half-time when the SPEC keeper fumbled a cross and Collins was on hand to slot home. 'Nese started the second half with two quickfire goals. First, a Mogilner corner found its way into the net thanks to a mistimed SPEC defender’s clearance, before Mogilner turned provider as he played in Collins, who took it round the keeper and bagged his second. SPEC pulled one back via Josh Green but five minutes later another Mogilner corner caused problems, as the SPEC keeper again fumbled and dropped the ball over the line. However, the SPEC keeper also pulled off a couple of decent saves to prevent Zac Brin getting on the scoresheet.
'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: “We're delighted to get back on track today with an emphatic win. My only disappointments being that we didn’t score more and conceded a sloppy goal.”
SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "We were beaten by the better side today."
DC Prediction: Jewdinese 4 SPEC 1

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 1 BROOK FARM ROVERS 2
Top-scorer Dan Cohen and Josh Silverman helped Brook Farm Rovers return to winning ways as they beat Redbridge Jewish Care at Fairlop to notch up their second league success.
Veteran Darren Brown replied for RJC.
Rovers' joint-player-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "It was an incredibly tough game today. The conditions made it very difficult to play football and we were up against a Redbridge side who worked hard and defended stoutly throughout. It was an ugly win but certainly a deserved one and we showed great character to come back from behind away from home and get a massive three points."
DC Prediction: RJC 0 BFR 2

NORTH WEST LONDON BEARS 3 FC TEAM 1
A deadly double from Zacki Doumou plus one from Harry Russell helped the Bears claim one of the shock results of the season as they beat table-toppers FC Team.
Connor Perl had earlier equalised for FC Team, but Bears' goalkeeper kept out a penalty from Steve Summers as FC Team were condemned to their first defeat of the season.
Bears' James Harpin told JC Sport: “We fully deserved the three points today. We worked harder than FC Team, kept the ball better than them, and were more clinical when we had chances."
FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: “Congratulations to Bears whom seem to be our bogey team. They played well and their strikers get them the goals. We did not play well, however, but we still had more than enough clear cut chances to win the game, so can only blame ourselves. We missed some huge chances at vital moments in the game. We had too many injuries which have come at a bad time for us. We lacked some bite in the midfield areas and a cutting edge in our finish. We go again next week and will move on from this and get back to winning ways."
DC Prediction: Bears 1 Team 3

PARIS SAINT-JEWMAIN 1 SCRABBLE 2
A brace from Alex Bourne fired Scrabble to their fifth win of the season as they edged past PSJ.
Zac Summerfield (pen) netted for PSJ against his former club but he was otherwise well-marshalled by man-of-the-match Neil Kochane in a game where Scrabble keeper Elliott Gordon ensured victory with a penalty save.
Scrabble player-manager Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "We did the double over PSJ. Inspired tactics to put 47-year-old Neil Kochane on 20-year-old danger man Zak Summerfield won the day as our experience managed a niggly game through to move into the top half of the table."
DC Prediction: PSJ 2 Scrabble 2

TEMPLE FORTUNE 2 CLUB de CHIGWELL 1
Temple Fortune moved to the summit after beating fourth-placed Club de Chigwell 2-1 with goals from Simon Cohen and Jacob Kalms.
Top-scorer Daniel Garfinkle had put Chigwell ahead but Fortune rallied superbly in an action-packed first half.
Delighted Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a fantastic morning's work in another tough fixture against a good side. We had to defend well for large spells in the second half, the whole team as a unit dealt with everything and deserved the win by showing a lot of character. Chigwell had a lot of the ball in our half but we completely shut them out with great discipline and organisation. That's three wins on the bounce and we need to focus on one game at a time. The boys are showing that they want it more than each team we face, delighted for the whole squad today."
CdC's Adam Conway told JC Sport: "It just wasn’t meant to be today. Once we got the early lead we didn’t make Fortune pay and the missed penalty was crucial. Fair play to Fortune, they dug in deep but we will keep fighting until the very end."
DC Prediction: TFFC 3 CdC 2
