The first Team of the Week of season 2019/20 includes a set-piece specialist with a special left peg and hat-trick heroes galore.

articlemain

1. JOSH ROSE (Club De Chigwell) - "made some crucial saves at important times in the game. Constantly talking to the back four which contributed to our strong defensive display"

2. JEFF GOTCH (SPEC FC) - "his best performance in a SPEC shirt. Won countless headers and very composed on the ball"

3. JOE JACOBSON (Wycombe Wanderers) - the left-back scored a hat-trick in League One. Enough said!

4. SIMON POCZTARUK (Temple Fortune) - "fantastic on debut against the Bears"

5. YEHUDA KORMAN (Hendon Utd Sports) - "man-of-the-match performance in the match of the day against title rivals HMH. Did not let a thing past him defensively, despite struggling with injury, and was solid throughout". MATCH PHOTOS

6. JAMES MILLET  (Hertswood Vale) - "How do you better scoring 20 goals last season, and a league title? We’re still unsure but a hattrick on the opening day of the season isn’t a bad place to start. James won’t mind me saying that he’s had better days, missing two or three chances that you’d put your house on him to score, but he still comes away with the match ball. Was quality throughout, creating chances for himself as well as his teammates. Vale’s new vice-captain really stepped up to the plate today"

7. CHARLIE BECKER (Hertswood Vale) - "MOTM. It’s very rare that a player can come away with the MOTM award when one of his team-mates has just bagged a hat-trick. 10/10 performance. After passing a late fitness test, Charlie had a debut to remember. His contribution to the win today with countless headers, passes and interceptions to break up the Dons attacks was crucial. Controlled the midfield, and walked away with an assist on his debut. Keep an eye on this kid"

8. JACK JOSEPH (Faithfold White) - "came on at half-time, took the game by the scruff of the neck and engineered an excellent comeback against Oakwood, was really unfortunate not to get a winner on a couple of occasions"

9. CONNOR PERL (FC Team) - "three sublime finishes"

10. REISS MOGILNER (Jewdinese) - enjoyed a memorable debut for the Zebras, with four clinical finishes against new boys Brook Farm Rovers. Fair to say he repaid a big chunk of his transfer fee and made himself an instant favourite with the fans.

11. DANIEL GARFINKLE (Club De Chigwell) - "showed exactly why he is one of the most feared players in Jewish football. A constant thorn in the Bourissa Barnet defence and the overhead kick goal to get his hat-trick showed his class and the X-factor he possesses"

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Joe Jacobson (Wycombe Wanderers)

MANAGER OF THE WEEK: James Rose (Club De Chigwell) - would've be easy to pick Jordan Sapler of Hendon United Sports, but Rose took his men to north-west London to destroy a Borussia Barnet tipped tipped for title success by the league chairman and yours truly!

REFEREE OF THE WEEK: Martin Lavender (Oakwood vs Faithfold White) - controlled the game superbly, allowed the play to flow. Firm but understanding throughout. Exemplary!
