More than 130 students attended the first central London Friday night dinner of the new university year.
Reality television star Judge Robert Rinder entertained students at Western Marble Arch Synagogue last weekend.
The dinners, co-organised by University Jewish Chaplaincy and the Union of Jewish Students, will continue on a weekly basis throughout the academic year.
Student Dina Hochhauser, who plans the dinners, said:"London is unique in that its Jewish students are spread across more than 20 universities. One simple way in which Jewish students can be brought together is through Friday Night Dinners. This provides the opportunity for students of disparate backgrounds to come together each week for a shared experience that is meaningful both socially and religiously."
