Jon Jacobs described Sam Sollosi as simply "unstoppable" after Redbridge Jewish Care came from a goal to maintain their title hopes against Lions.
The east Londoners got back to winning ways after last week's cup thriller against Hendon thanks to goals from Daniel Garfinkle (2), Dean Nyman and Adam Goldman.
But they started out feeling sorry for themselves. Shorn of Darren Brown (flu), Jordan Sapler (knee ligament), Ryan Cole (ankle injury), Nathan Sollosi, Scott Oldstein, Richard Gold, Matt Niman, Daniel Jacobs and Matt Kemp all back at Uni and Steve Summers unavailable, they were really down to the bare bones.
Manager Jon Jacobs was able to call upon Dean Nyman for his seasonal bow, moved Adam Goldman back to full-back, Danny Hakimi alongside his brother Adam at centre-back and Sam Rank holding in midfield.
Lions started like a train, pressing high up the pitch and dominating proceedings and soon took the lead with a close range header not dealt with by either keeper or defence from a well-taken corner.
It looked like the Hendon result was still playing on their minds but gradually, Lions stopped pressing and Redbridge took over the game.
A smart move ended with NYMAN, marking his first appearance with a composed finish to level things up.
This was followed by a marauding GOLDMAN on the right who sent in a speculative cross come shot that deceived the keeper and ended up in the far corner of the net.
Half-time came with the score at 2-1 to RJC but still the game in the balance.
Lions gave themselves a chance to get back in with a penalty awarded for Adam Hakimi having his arms round the Lions forward. Hotly disputed, justice seemed to be done with a magnificent save by Brad Grant, it was a well-struck penalty but he turned it round the post with a strong hand - this definitely felt a game-changer.
Redbridge then continued to dominate, Sam Sollosi, playing wide, was simply unplayable and with big brother, Ben, dictating the game in the middle with James Berkley, the game seemed to be sewn up by a smash and grab goal caused by the sheer pace of top-scorer GARFINKLE.
Lions continued to nag away at Redbridge and scored a second goal to give themselves hope in the last 10 minutes.
In between all of this Redbridge had missed several half chances and had hit bar twice so the game should have been wrapped up.
The final action of the game saw the Lions defence caught in an unwinnable running race with the pacy GARFINKLE who steered the ball into an empty net to conclude the game and a 4-2 win.
